Since its foundation in 1636, Utrecht University has developed into a leading international teaching and research institution. Part of the University (Faculty of Arts, New Media and Digital Culture) is located in the historical inner city. Another part of the University is located at the Uithof (University campus). One of the famous buildings of the campus is the Educatorium, built by Rem Koolhaas, winner of the Pritzker Prize for architecture. This is where the conference will take place.
"The Educatorium pulls out all the stops. Structures and installations, walls, floors and facades, spaces and finishing materials have been reinvented. Despite the landscaped design, the interior is devoid of nostalgia. In fact, the fixed orientation points that characterize a landscape are altogether absent. The Educatorium is an artificial and illusory landscape, a new urban space for a new kind of city."

The historical City of Utrecht is located in the middle of the Netherlands, only half an hour from Amsterdam.
